Hi Ha,
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful, I have just known about "Manga" that I never saw before. I have learn new thing from your blog. I love it.
Ha, I agree with Nguyen that manga is something relatively new for me. I have, of course, heard of manga before but I've never actually read it myself of thought very much about the positive and negative impact of being a passionate fan of manga. I do know that I have had students in the past who loved the genre so much that they actually started taking Japanese classes (this was in a previous college where Japanese was offered) and even started a manga club, so I can really see your point that one of the benefits of manga is an increased interest in culture and language. I suppose, as with any hobby, there is a danger of getting obsessed and ignoring many other important aspects of life--like work and school--but on the whole, as long as someone is able to keep life in balance, reading manga sounds like it can be a very enjoyable activity.
